ANTARCTICA IS AN UNPREDICTABLE ENVIRONMENT. BELOW ARE SOME GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO KEEP YOU WARM AND SAFE.
Our expedition to Antarctica takes place during the austral summer. Although it can be sunny, we advise that you also expect sleet, snow, harsh winds, with high wind-chill factor. The temperature in the Antarctic Peninsula generally doesn’t go far below freezing. The average temperature range is between -7°C and 3°C (20°F to 34°F). With windchill factor, this can feel like -18°C (0°F).

You know your body – adjust our equipment list accordingly if your extremities get cold easily. Concentrate on quick-drying and breathable, lightweight clothing. Fleece (and other synthetic materials) dry quickly and have good insulating properties, even when wet. On the other hand, when cotton gets wet, it is cold and can take a long time to dry.
